Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland Have a Heart-to-Heart
We next saw more exclusive footage from after Dynamite, as Hangman Adam Page approached Swerve Strickland’s locker room to address longstanding issues and seek closure ahead of AEW All In.
Will Ospreay was also in Swerve’s locker room, and he immediately assumed Hangman was there to fight and looked to keep the two separated. After Hangman asked for two minutes and Swerve agreed, Ospreay left the room, followed by Prince Nana. Swerve then told Hangman he knew he was there to ask for help, almost taunting the Cowboy.
But Page went a different direction: “I’m not gonna ask you for help. I am going into a suicide mission on Saturday. And I figured if I don’t say this now, I might never have the chance. So I just wanted to do what I should have done two years ago.”
Hangman continued candidly, confronting past events, “The Bucks, Matt and Nick. At Dynasty and everything since…I had nothing to do with it. And I know if I were you, I probably wouldn’t believe me, and that’s fine.”
He expressed lingering pain over past actions, particularly those affecting his family, “My son still wakes up at night screaming because he thinks he sees you in his room, and I hate you for that. I always will.”
Seeking clarity, Hangman asked directly, “Do you regret what you did to me?”
Swerve Strickland paused, reflecting deeply, before responding, “If you would’ve asked me this before me becoming a world champion, I would’ve looked you dead in your eyes, and I would’ve said no. Hell, I’d do it all over again. But after the world championship, after me main eventing Wembley, after our cage match, after me losing things, people, championships, matches, all of it—yeah, I do.”
Hangman informed Swerve about his family attending the events surrounding All In, to which Swerve replied reassuringly, “I’ll stay clear of them. Hope they enjoy the show.”
Hangman responded briefly but sincerely, “I believe you.” As he went to leave, Swerve stopped him one last time, reflecting on the childhood home that Hangman had burned down. Swerve said he had planned for his children and their children to grow up in that home, pondering deeply, “After thinking about it…maybe it was time to let go of the past after all.”
As Hangman exited, Swerve picked up the chain Page left behind and looked lost in thought.
